We did and didn't do it! :)
For the first time in Africa!
Yayyy!! Wooohooo!
But unfortunately we didn't get to the Super SWARM Badge (250 people). That we'll unlock at the next SWARM Party.
Thank you to all who got behind the one matchstick SWARM Party, especially our sponsors:
- SAB - Castle Lager
- Jolandie Rust
- Glow Bangles
- Distro Tech
- Poken
- Rabin Harduth of Comic Revolution
- Stan of the Bluesroom
You know you want two!
Tonight we are SWARMing for the first time in Africa. We're attempting to be the first to unlock the Super SWARM badge of foursquare.com. It's your last chance to get VIP Tickets and get two free Castles and a Springleap Tshirt - call me on 0837302979!
And to think this all started with a conversation at a party with my friend Charl in January this year. He offered me two Castle Lagers for each T-shirt I trade as part of my tenth trade. I needed a way to distribute the beers, and so thought of throwing a party.
Then I heard of crowd swarming, and foursquare, and since then the one matchstick SWARM party has evolved.
And it's here… Tonight.
Can we unlock the Super SWARM Badge? We'll see in a few hours!
It is with so much gratitude in my heart that I thank you Charl for your belief in my vision, and for your offer that has sparked us off on our SWARM tonight! You rock!
The headline act at the SWARM Party: Mantis Moon
Mantis Moon started off as the duo "The Little Black Hats" with guitarist Michael Sadie and violinist Waldo Alexander in 1993. They claimed first place at the Andy McGibbon's Acoustic Arts Duo Competition for their awesome song Firefly (which you’ll hear at the SWARM Party- yayy!)
Recently they had a chance meeting with the drummer Clement Benny, and through his efforts the new band was formed in February 2010 along with bass player Giom Mouton and guitarist Dugal Harris.
Join Mantis Moon in unlocking the Foursquare Super SWARM Badge on Saturday at the Bluesroom. They are the headline act, and will be keeping us entertained along with comedian Rabin Harduth our MC, and the other awesome bands Broken People, Book of Thieves and Finding Noah.
