The House was Rocked!
Cito and his band wanted to get
up close with fans, and offer an experience to be remembered, and that is what
they delivered last night!
After I traded the Rock the Housewith WONDERboom experience with Rene and Nina for a Mobile Lifestyle Makeover, I was delighted to get an invitation to join in the celebrations. It was a small, fun and crazy bunch of friends celebrating Nina’s birthday, and we got the full concert experience in a small room, just for us! (lots of photos here)
Dancing around with everyone to some of my favourite WONDERboom tunes, it occurred to me that this is the first trade I've done where I took part in and enjoyed the actual item I traded on.
With each of the eleven (well, now twelve) “items” of my trades to date, I've had to remind myself that the item I have is not for my enjoyment. The only item I will get to experience to its full is going to be where I stop trading on. And that will be the office space.
So it was quite a grounding reality check to realize that those moments I got to share with Cito, Wayne, Martin, Jonathan, Nina, Rene and their friends, at that private rock concert that was born out of a single matchstick, was not just talk anymore (as it’s been for the last two years), but actually happening!
And if that came from that single matchstick that I started with 8 years ago, then the reality of an office to help start-up entrepreneurs is a very real possibility. And getting closer to becoming a reality.
And I have work to do.
So I thank and salute WONDERboom and Nina and Rene (and all the other people I have trade with to date!) for not only believing in the one matchstick possibility, but for also being a part of it and helping to make it happen. You all rock!

I’m looking for a Man...
...who’s having a
mid-life crisis and loves rock concerts!
Yes. That’s the
criteria.
And because
that’s the criteria, I’ve been reading up about the concept of “mid-life crisis”. Now I’m convinced even more that some guy who is somewhere in the
middle of his life and is having a little wobble from realizing that fact, and
so is in transition and wanting to experience more of life, would be interested
in my latest “life experience” up for trade.
Wikipedia says he’d be experiencing feelings of
searching for “an undefined dream or goal” and have a “desire to achieve a
feeling of youthfulness”. He’d also be
behaving in a way that acquires “unusual or expensive items such as motorbikes,
boats, clothing, sports cars, jewelry, gadgets, tattoos, piercings, etc.”
So the “Rock the
House” experience provides an awesome way to feel like a teenager again, one
who’s attending their first rock concert. Only this is even better as you get
to go “back stage” any time and hang with the rock stars! Plus they will come to your after party, and bring
the DJ!
What a goal it
would be to find a way to trade with me for this opportunity. And, I’m hoping
this Man’s always had a secret little dream of having his own rock concert!
Another
indication that he’d be a possible candidate for me to trade with is the
sign of a mid-life crisis which is that the person plays just to play. Also he does mischievous things that appear
out of character, surprising people who know him.
So throwing a rock concert at his home for all his friends, and having such a party till the wee hours of the morning with WONDERboom (who know how to party!), would be such a fit.

Mischief Making aka Graffiti fun!
Maybe the person who I'll trade with next, is in Johannesburg over the next few days… and will just happen to need to drive into Braamfontein... and will be stopped at a red traffic light at the corner of Jan Smuts and Empire roads...
And will sigh, feeling bored with all the driving that we do in the world today, getting from one place to another to do one thing after the other… and this person will look to their side, and notice the Graffiti wall… and this person's eye will be caught by the multi-coloured, amateur attempt at some graffiti… and, reading this…
...the person will wonder... And will be curious enough to get on their phone when they get to their destination... And head to this website... and now be reading these words...
