News on my first trader
Remember my first trade? Of the one ordinary green pen with Nikki?
Well I was checking in with Nikki and saw that she's on holiday, and that she has become a blogger since we traded the matchstick for her pen. And she's got lots to share about on her green blog (she sure like's green hey!). Her mission in life is to inform others of the kinds of fraud and scams that take place to that you have the power to prevent them happening to you!
So check out her blog if you want here.
Later!

Keep this in mind, and love..
Nothing last forever
Rabindranath Tagore (1861 – 1941)
Nothing lasts forever,
No-one lives forever
Keep that in mind, and love
Our life is not the same old burden
Our path is not the same long journey
The flower fades and dies
We must pause to weave
perfection into the music
Keep that in mind, and love
Love droops towards its sunset
To be drowned in the golden shadows
Love must be called from its play
And love must be born again
To be free
Keep that in mind, and love
Let us hurry to gather our flowers
Before they are plundered by the passing winds
It quickens our blood
and brightens our eyes
To snatch kisses that would vanish
If we delayed
Our life is eager
Our desires are keen
For time rolls by
Keep that in mind, and love
Beauty is sweet for a short time
And then it is gone
Knowledge is precious
But we will never have time to complete it
All is done and finished
In eternal heaven
But our life here is eternally fresh
Keep that in mind, and love
Suggestions for offers for the Holiday
Ok- so I've been asking people off line if they would trade something for a holiday, and the number one question is "What would I trade you?" My answer is just about anything! Be a dare devil and take a chance offering what ever you think of!
So here are some ideas... Because the value (not necessarily monetary value) to you of the item you offer should be less than the value of the holiday, or equivalent, but to me, it just might be of more value. And we'll never know until you make me an offer.
So how about offering me one or two or plenty of the following:
- Lawn mower
- Cash
- Collection of old CD’s
- Deluxe Fly swatter
- Auto-graphed cricket bat
- Haircuts for a year
- Jet ski
- Another holiday
- Offices
- A gym membership that is transferable that you never use
- Rent for 6 months
- A makeover
- A painting that you no longer like
- A day at a spa
- A laptop
- Washing machine
- Quad bike
- Your collection of Spiderman comics
- A bicycle that is sitting collecting dust
- A service that you offer, or product that you sell
You can get a few friends together -the holiday sleeps 5 easily, so you could get 4 other friends and you all go during the week.
Or get 9 other friends to come up with something to offer me, and then 5 of you take one weekend, and the other 5 take the other weekend! I am sure 10 heads together could come up with a brilliant offer!
It's also an ideal getaway for a family, so what a family project to chat about at the dinner table about what you could offer me?
So come on, make me an offer! Leigh recently made an offer of a whole box of matches for the holiday! Who knows, maybe I'll take it and start trading more matches...
So contact me and make an offer- call or sms on 083 730 2979 or email on onematchstick@gmail.com - even skype me when I’m online at telanas- it's easy to get hold of me!
Looking forward to some offers!

Check this article!
Laaaast year I met the editor Rachel and she asked me to write a bit about my trading journey, and voila! They published the story! :) Exciting stuff! Check it out in Volume 2 Issue 2!
I think Women Inc is quite an exciting magazine- they call themselves the "Complete Resource for the Working Woman" and I have always found their articles useful and interesting. And for all the men out there who read my blog, they have just released a mag for the men- called "Every Man"- it's worth a look too! And Rachel's started a blog, so lots happening with this new magazine!
The best thing about this article was chatting to and getting to know Rachel a bit more- what an entrepreneurial woman! Actually the best part of this trading journey has been the people- people I have traded with, people I have met along the way who have helped me- like Dave from Raw Penguin who taught me a few blogging tricks (he's quite brill actually!); and Heino from Everyday Hardware who sold me paint for my mischief making; and new friends like Chris.
So I wonder who I'll be meeting next! Will it be you? If so, get in touch on onematchstick@gmail.com
