Mischief Making aka Graffiti fun!
...the person will wonder... And will be curious enough to get on their phone when they get to their destination... And head to this website... and now be reading these words...
So if that's you – then read this pdf doc or watch this little movie to understand what onematchstick is all about...
And then read about my latest offer, of the exclusive "Rock the House" experience with WONDERboom, or hear it from the bands mouth themselves...
And then give me a call so we can discuss what we can trade, for you to have WONDERboom perform a little rock concert in your very own garden for you and your friends, and what I’ll get to help me get to my goal of office space to help startup entrepreneurs!
So, call me! 0837302979!
PS- for over 20 years this has been the wall of free expression – until now, apparently you need to get permission. Noted for future mischief making! Thanks SuSteve for being my mischief maker extraordinaire!
I'm this serious about SWARMing
And our mischief making has got some international attention.
YES- I am that serious about this SWARM party and setting the record of being the first to unlock the Foursquare Super SWARM Badge on the African continent. And trade all my Springleap T-shirts in the process.
So if you ever doubted that we would pull this off, I hope this mischief making dissolves those doubts. ;)
My fellow Mischief Makers were Mongezi and Jolandie. Jolandie Rust graffiti'd about her upcoming "Stuck on a Bike" event to raise the funds she needs to become the first woman to circumnavigate the African Continent on a bicylcle and solo.
Yip. Solo- no support vehicles.
And yip. On a bike- pedal power!
Her event is starting on the 5th November at the Tyger Valley Shopping Centre in Cape Town, where she will be literally on a bike for 48 hours to raise awareness and funds for three different causes. You can support her by popping by during the 48 hours (and especially between midnight and 4:00 in the morning- she will realllllly appreciate the company ;) and making a donation of R100. You'll get 2 CD’s by the awesome SA musician and motivational speaker - Verity Price.
And even if you are not in Cape Town, you can support Jolandi by still making a donation. Check out the info on her blog or the facebook event 'Stuck on a Bike'!
So... se-reee-oooss-lyyyyy!
Jolandie and I are THAT serious about reaching our dreams and goals, that we would not only sit on a bike for 48 hours, but would also spend our Sunday graffiti'ing about our events.
So who's serious enough to support us and join in the fun? Give me a call 0837302979 or email.
I need 236 more people
My accomplice Carol and I headed out with a boot full of spraypaint and a tin of white paint.
We found a spot on the Graffiti wall and this is our latest masterpiece- (by no means a master Graffiti masterpiece, but for two amateurs, I think we did ok. We've still got a lot to learn!)
This mischief was about helping me to find 236 more people to trade with. That is how many T-shirts I have left to trade to make this tenth trade a reality, and I could really do with all the support and help I can get to move closer to finishing this trade.
I have quite a few exciting offers waiting for me to explore, but I can only do so once I have finished this tenth trade of the Springleap T-shirts.
So, I'm looking for 236 more fabulous people to trade with me, and have their photo up on this page, with the other 139 people who have already traded with me (you're such stars!) so that I would have traded all 375 T-shirts.
If you saw the graffiti and it lead you to this page, and you don't know what I am talking about, then take a minute to read this 2-pager or watch the "one matchstick, the Movie" movie:
It's that easy to be a part.
And if you realllly don't want a T-shirt, then consider one of the many Three-way trades I have been offered.
Any questions? Just leave a comment or sms me on 0837302979 or tweet me @telana.
Cool beans.
I found another Mischief Maker
Now I found a fellow mischief maker who had some graffiti of his own to graffiti. And I just couldn't help get involved ;)
Adin is living without money so through his network of friends, he got a friend to help out and pay for the spraypaint and she got one of Donna the Fairy Godmother's workshops in return. That's how Adin rolls: you help him; he adds value back to you somehow. Check out his blog to learn more!
I also wanted to rope in Carol- she didn't know she had a graffiti artist in her until I asked her to help me a few weeks ago with these bits of mischief, and now she just can't wait for me to call her and say the walls been painted white and we need to go get up to mischief again. So if anyone wants something painted on their wall- let me know and I'll get you in touch with Carol- it will make her day!
So Adin found out where to get the real deal graffiti spray paint, and we headed off to Rasty's shop 'Grayscale' in Braamfontein. Rasty's one of South Africa's, even the world's, top graffiti artists, (check out his masterpieces here) and it was so cool to meet him. He's the man to hook you up with spray paint if you ever need some! Go visit him at 35A De Korte Street, corner with Henri Street, in Braamfontein sometime and say the 'matchstick girl says hi!
We went via the Pillars under the freeway in Newtown, Johannesburg for some inspiration, and boy- what inspiration it was! Go check out the pillars next time you're in that area!
Then we went and left our mark on the graffiti wall. What do you think of our mischief making?
I didn't do this…
But I did do this:
Because my timing sucked and our last attempt at graffiti got painted over within 24 hours, I decided to give it another bash, with the help of Richard and Carol... and on the way there we passed this white bus stop on Jan Smuts, just near the Zoo...
I have no idea why someone has whitewashed the trees and grass around this bus stop, and the actual bus stop, but it made for a fun playground for a few photos!
Now I am looking for 285 people- I've trade 90 T-shirts so far, and am ready to trade with another 285 people for any of these Springleap T-shirts (use coupon code onematchstick to track your trade with me!). So contact me on 0837302979 to find out how to become part of the onematchstick story!
Are you one of the 302 people I am looking to find?
I believe... well it's more than a belief... I know like I know like I know that there are 302 more people out there who'd love a new funky springleap.com designer T-shirt and who'd support me in trading with me for one of the 375 T-shirts I have to trade. So I'm trying to find those 302 people (I've already traded 73 T-shirts, so at the time of writing this I have 302 T-shirts left to trade).
You see, I'm aiming to turn a matchstick into an office through a series of trades, where each trade gets bigger and bigger in perceived value, and takes me closer to my end goal of getting offices.
I've done 9 trades so far and for my tenth trade, I am trading the t-shirts on individually. So if you want to be part of this and trade with me, send me an email and read the instructions here on how to do the trade with me.
Are you one of the 302 people I am looking to find?
( PS- this is my accomplice Carol who helped me with doing the graffiti, and me!)
