Walk the Talk

The 702 Walk the Talk team

People are funny – we’ll drive for over 20 minutes, some for nearly 2 hours in the traffic jams, and converge on one place, to then go for a walk with 27 999 other people, only to then get back in our cars, sit in the traffic jams again, and go back home. Megan, the owner of one ordinary green pen of the ballpoint variety (which, by the way, she says has been most useful in editing her thesis!) pointed this out, and that I’m one of those funny people- I just love the vibe that so many people and their dogs can create, all jolly and laughing and promoting some kind of cause or business (as you can see by all the T-shirts- I was thinking that I should have got organised with a t-shirt that had ONEMATCHSTICK.CO.ZA all over it.) Yip, a bunch of us from Jozi7degrees went for a stroll on Sunday at the Discovery 702 Walk the Talk 2006- we did the 5 km, and what fun!

We passed Baby Jake on the way, he was being interviewed by a TV Crew, so I didn’t get to speak to him,

Baby Jake joins in

...and the guy in the front of this photo is also a TV star- does anyone know who he is?entrepreneurial genius

And see how ingenious people are- these guys were selling Lemonade for R2
to all the thousands of walkers going by!

Out of the 27 999 people there, I only bumped into one person I knew (besides
my friends who walked with me) being Mike from DM Kisch Inc– the last time I
saw Mike was in the boardroom of his offices, when we were discussing some exciting
business opportunities! Nice to see you Mike!

Jack, Mike and Reg

Meet 3 exceptional men: Jack, Mike and Reg, up for trade.

I traded Rodrigus the Frog with Retha for Jack, Mike and Reg. I thought at first it was just going to be for Jack, but Retha decided to give me a bonus and throw in Mike and Reg too! Cool beans!

Trading Rod for 2 books with Retha

We met at the opening of the Tao Day Coaching and Wellness Centre in Johannesburg- that’s the only time Retha had free in her busy schedule. You see, Retha's an ace change agent! (and coach and trainer too). Amid the trading of Rodrigus, there was also the lighting of candles in the Zen garden to bless the centre, and the drawing of archetype cards to see what roles the guests would play in the centre. I drew “The Prince”, which is a leader in training (?) and Rod drew “The Mediator”- so I guess he’ll be negotiating fairness and strategy in the professional and personal lives of those he meets while he travels the world.

So now that I’ve got acquainted with Jack, Mike and Reg, you’ve got the opportunity to get to know them and learn from their experiences. Let me introduce them in a bit more detail:

Jack Carew – “The Mentor”:

  • Founder and CEO of Carew International
  • Dynamic and innovative sales training consultant for 20 years
  • Author of 2 national best sellers – one being “The Mentor”
  • Been on more than 110 TV and radio programmes
  • Guru in world of Human Resource Development
  • Former marine lieutenant colonel

Mike Lipkin – “Fire & Water”:

  • Speaker, author, motivator, persuasion coach and President of Environics
  • Worked in twenty-two countries with over 1,000,000 people
  • Born in the UK and raised in South Africa- now lives in Toronto
  • Makes the complex simple, helps people “get it” immediately
  • Totally bald

Reg Lascaris – “Fire & Water”:

  • South African marketing and advertising mogul
  • Africa and Middle East regional director of ad agency group TBWA Worldwide
  • Partner in Boekenhoutskloof winery
  • Pet obsession is selling South Africa
  • Started his ad agency in 1983 out of the boot of a car

So if you trade with me, you’ll get to be mentored by Jack as he shares his secrets of success in sales, business and life. You’ll also get to explore the discoveries about doing business in South Africa that Mike and Reg learnt since 1993, and share in their fears and flaws as they take you into their worlds and minds. And not only will you “meet” them, you’ll get to keep them - on your book shelf!

So would you like to trade with me for Jack, Mike and Reg? If so, send me your offer to onematchstick@gmail.com .

What a weekend!

What a weekend! Italy won the World Cup. Roger Federer won the Wimbeldon title again, for the 4th time. Kyle got his house! And Rodrigus had his first sight of over 130 Ferrari’s!

Yes, you heard me right: Kyle Macdonald of oneredpaperclip has got his house! He has traded his one red paperclip up and now has a house! 503 Main Street, Kipling, Saskatchewan, Canada, Earth. Awesome Kyle! Congratulations!

So for me this is so exciting, because I really believe that if another human being can do something, any other human being can do it too - it’s humanly possible! So that means that it’s definitely possible- and now probable- that I’ll turn my one matchstick into offices! And then I’ll get to help a fellow entrepreneur get wings for his or her dream! All I need now is for South Africa to come on board and help me make this dream come true! So, who’s keen to trade something for my latest item up for trade: Rodrigus the frog?

Talking of Rod, he’s starting to get some great stories to tell. Like on Saturday Gary and my mom Adele took him to the Kyalami Race track for the Ferrari Day! They got to see everything Ferrari, from novice drivers taking their Ferraris for a burn, to the pro’s from the Ferrari Challenge Series who raced around the track.

Rod_cars 008

Here's Rod on a Ferrari, and that's Gary and my Mom in the reflection!

There was one Ferrari that was white- and Mom was disappointed in that, for after all, how can a Ferrari come in any colour other than that brilliant Ferrari red? As cartorque.co.za says in their article about the Ferrari Day: "Ferraris are fast, they are beautiful and they are Italian, which means they have a fair degree of what is fondly known as "temperament". And perhaps they fact that most of them are painted in brilliant red has something to do with it.” I agree.

I would have loved to have been there to hear that unique vvvrooooommmminng roar of those Ferraris as they sped around the track, but I was otherwise engaged in business discussions that will, with some effort, lead to me having the choice to be the one making those vvvrooooommmminng roars in something red ;) Here's a clip of some of the Ferraris- I now have got to get a camera that records sound (I wonder if someone will trade me one for a matchstick? ;)

Gary recently retired, and timed it perfectly so that he could be one of the biggest spectators I know, of the World Cup! He watched every single match that was broadcast over these last 30 days! How’s that for a fan? He’s now thinking of coming out of his early retirement, to do a bit of work, as there’s nothing left to keep him glued to that box anymore… So anyone got a job for Gary (that doesn’t require an office- he’d prefer to work outdoors), let me know and I’ll hook you up with him.

So with that kind of weekend, this week is sure to be an exciting one. Oh, and Gary just said to mention that if anyone has any ideas for Rod’s next adventure, then be sure to add a comment!

Have a great week!

July Fever

Rodrigus just got back from his first adventure a few days ago!

Rodrigus at Durban July

Andy and Tracey took him down to Durban to take apart in “July Fever”… and the one horse race that all of South Africa watches! It’s when South Africa’s best thoroughbreds storm round the Greyville Racecourse in the Vodacom Durban July. And the best dressed get to show off their style! We even had a bit of July Fever here in Johannesburg at the Jozi7degrees “a day at the races” event! What fun getting to wear top hats and feathers, and take part in a bet, with proceeds to a charity!

Rodrius had a fab time - he even bet on “Eurovision”, Andy tells me, but his horse didn’t do well... o well, maybe next time Rodrigus you’ll bring home the big winnings!

Tracey looks stunning here, don’t you think?rod_julyfever4
She’s a new entrepreneur, actually, as well as a beauty, and has organised a Poker Cruise with Andy. Actually they’re both pretty entrepreneurial! Andy is one of the founders of bidorbuy.co.za and talking to him sparked off an idea in my head to do with one matchstick and auctions…I just need to think it through a bit then I’ll share it with you.

Back to Tracey- I love chatting and getting to know people more, fascinating stuff! Tracey is an interior designer and used to be dancer. The Poker Cruise sounds like it was born out of this couples love for water and cruises, and their keen sense of play and fun- they are ace poker players- mixed with a bit of business savvy-ness. It’s one of the first of its kind in South Africa - where you are able to take part in a top notch poker tournament while at sea, touring islands. Sounds like a great way to spend a few days!

Quite a few people have been asking me when I’m going to make my next trade… well all I can say is there are no set rules here for my trading project, and I’ve just been plotting out which offer would be the best to lead me towards trading up for offices! So although you haven’t seen it, there’s been a lot happening behind the scenes. I’d love your input, and keep those questions coming- send them to onematchstick@gmail.com

Rodrigus is now back sitting on top of my PC... and he’s keen on going for another adventure... so if you have a trip planned that Rodrigus could join you on, be sure to let me know on onematchstick@gmail.com

Have a great FRIDAY!

Kiyosaki and me

Yip- I met him. Robert Kiyosaki. :) A great mentor and teacher. The man who has 2 dads- one rich and one poor.

Robert came to South Africa this week to do a presentation yesterday for, I'd guess, about 1000 people, with all the proceeds going to NOAH's orphans, a charity for Nurturing Orphans of AIDS for Humanity. This charity, and others like Starfish, were formed in response to the epidemic of orphans we have and will have following the AIDS pandemic in the country. Noah and Starfish, you guys are doing great work, keep it up! Robert and his wife Kim also made a donation on the day, so shot to you as well!

See- here I am with Robert.
Kiyosaki and Telana

Unfortunately he was too busy signing books to chat to me, because I would have liked to have thanked him for one line in his book, "Cashflow Quadrants". That line has helped me stick it out in tough times while getting my business off the ground. The line is: “You can quit anytime, so why quit now?" And I would have also liked to have asked him his opinion on this trading project of mine. I wonder what he would have said? Robert, if you read this, do pop me an email , thanks!

Robert and Kim really seemed to like our country- Robert spoke about us being a highly entrepreneurial nation, he commented on the number of people that tried to sell him stuff at the traffic lights! And his recommendation was for us to grow as a nation, we need even more entrepreneurs. So wow, how do we grow even more entrepreneurs here? There are competitions to win funding for the best business plans, plenty of talk shows on the radio about business and entrepreneurs, trainings, and lots of opportunities waiting to be tapped. There are even people trading matchsticks for offices ;)

Talking about trades… been mulling over which offer to accept. Which one would you take, hmmm? Add a comment or send me an email with your suggestions. Or even better yet, send me another offer for Rodrigus (who went away this weekend... I’ll update you later on his adventures!)

Thanks!

Offers for Rodrigus

**PLEASE NOTE**
These offers are for Rodrigus, the fluffy frog who wants to travel. If you would like to trade with me for any of these offers, please let me know what you would offer me to trade for it by emailing onematchstick@gmail.com! It will then be much easier for me to decide which item to trade if my next trade is ready to go. Let your imagination go wild! Thanks. T

**********OFFERS FOR Rodrigus**********
If Rodriguez the Frog is keen on travel -then we have the trip of a lifetime planned for him. He can join us soon to see England and France, and then for a huge trip through South America -where hopefully he'll take in the snowy mountains of the Andes, glide down the Amazon, and park off on beaches in Rio!
On top of this he'll have a travel mate in Don Gnome (aptly named after the travelling Gnome in Amelie) who has already taken in the epic peaks of the Himalayas, crossed the plains of Tibet and experienced massive Chinese cities, not to mention lived in two cities in England!
We would like to trade Whoopee! Whoopee is made of a few metres of wool, huge dollops of optimism, a few tablespoons of sunshine (depending on availability) and enough love and care to change the world. Whoopee was specially handcrafted by a Proud South African, with one destination in mind. The hope is that she will eventually bring a smile and all that love to a beautiful child living with, or affected by AIDS in South Africa. She is part of a much larger project, where thousands of dolls are being created to bring warmth and cuddles to children infected by AIDS. Our hope if you accept our trade is that Whoopee will bring a smile to your world on the way to somebody else who chooses to trade for Whoopee, and eventually to a child living in adverse circumstances.
Whoopee has been created in Manchester, England, by a passionate South African doing what she can to help her home country while she sees a bit more of this beautiful world. So, if you're willing to trade, Rodriguez will have to pack his stuff and head over to join Don Gnome (who is pretty excited over the possibility of a travel mate - please don't disappoint him)!
With love and light,Mandy and Charlton

I need that frog – clever charming and sophisticated it can fit right into my house. I am willing to trade it for a book called "The Mentor" by Jack Carew.

Kind regards
Retha
**********
Well I've decided that I would like the frog actually!

I have 2 things I would like to trade for the frog. A set of 5 CD's and an optical mouse. All in good working order. The only thing wrong with the optical mouse is that it's white and has a cord. After much searching I have finally found a black, wireless mouse and thus am able to release my self from the desk top bounds of a corded mouse, in particular a white one. I have a thing for black mice in case anyone was wondering.

The CD's are,

All-Time Movie Hits (Video Hit Collection `93)
Cinema Soundtrack-hits
Filmpalast Superhits
Carmen (Instrumental version)

I also have a thing for movie music and opera, just don't tell anyone!!!

Lots of love and desperate desire

Introducing Rodrigus and his travel plans

I traded my one ordinary green pen of the ballpoint variety with Megan tonight for her fluffy frog. Here we are.

Trading with Megan

I popped over to Megan's little studio flat on the way home from a meeting tonight, and was introduced to Rodrigus, the fluffy frog, with a zip-able zippered pocket on his back, belt loops, and authentic Canadian maple leaf on his stomach. This is him in the photo.
Rodrigus the fluffy frog

Rodrigus was just sitting there next to the computer and cannot wait to get out and about. You see, as Rodrigus and I were catching up on the way home, I learnt that he’s got quite a story to tell!

He was born in China, and then shipped to Canada. Megan’s friend bought him from a tourist shop in Canada and, he thinks he went via London on his way to South Africa where he was given to Megan.

Now the thing is Megan had a really bad time getting on with frogs (until recently)… some might even term it a phobia of our amphibian friends that Megan grappled with. So when Rodrigus was dropped off at Megan’s home in Edenvale, Johannesburg, well, let’s just say that there were no fireworks between them. Megan agreed to take care of Rodrigus, feeling that it might help her overcome her dislike of anything that jumped and croaked.

Megan then went travelling overseas for a few years, and during this time Rodrigus spent too long in a dark, cramped box in the storage room of Megan’s Grandmother, at her Retirement home in Edenvale.

Upon Megan’s return from travelling in Europe and Asia (and those travel stories are for another blog, another time Megan tells me) she moved to Sandton with her boxes. Rodrigus was set free again to sit next to Megan while she studied, alongside to her computer.

Megan is a Psychologist finishing off her Masters this year, and she specialises in Community Psychology. She was telling me some of her exciting dreams, like this one of creating a network of people who would like to give back and do something for those in need, but don’t know how to give back. She comes in contact so often with people who just need something small that will make the hugest difference in their lives- something like a phone card to call their child living in another country to see if he is alright, or a pair of shoes, or stationery for their child at school.

So she’s got this idea to put the people’s requests out to a network within the community, so those that want can help those that need it. Great idea, Meg! (If you have any ideas for Megan on how to do this, or would like to be a part, or just cheer Megan on- send me an email and I’ll send it to her!)

Back to Rodrigus… so he’s been sitting next to her computer, getting used to seeing the sunlight again and mixing with people. Just being there helped Megan out a bit with her fear of amphibians, and then lately with the help of the Neuro-Semantic phobia cure pattern, Megan is feeling a lot more tolerant of things that jump and go croak in the night. So as Megan said, it’s time Rodrigus moves on.

And he agrees. Actually he’s got big plans, and this is where you come in.

Rodrigus wants to travel the world! He’s been dreaming of it! He feels like he’s lost so much time sitting by computers and in boxes, that he wants to make up for it and see as much of the world as possible.

Rodrigus' self portrait (Here's Rodrigus taking a self portrait with Megan.)

So he’s asked that he finds a home that will allow him the freedom to travel, and he’s agreed that he’ll keep in touch and send me photo’s of all the places he visits, so I can post them here for us to see his adventures.

So this is our plan, and we’re hoping you’ll be able to help out: Rodrigus would like a nice, safe, cosy home to call his base. He’d ideally like to live with someone who travels a lot, but if not, he’d like a place that will allow him to get picked up by travellers. He’d then get to travel and see the world, and still get to come back to his nice, safe, cosy home-base in between travels. So his ideal new owner could be someone who would be ok with people getting in touch with them via me on onematchstick, to come pick him up to take him on their travels and to send the photo’s back to me.

So would you like to help Rodrigus fulfil his dream of travelling all over the world? If so, send me your offer to onematchstick@gmail.com

I’ll be off now to help Rodrigus settle in for the night at his new temporary home next to my computer.

Cheers!

I made history!

I think I made history today. Has anyone ever traded one matchstick before? I wonder! If you know, let me know and I’ll publish the details here. Otherwise, I got to make history with the first trade ever of a matchstick for an ordinary green pen of the ball point variety.

I did the actual exchange this evening at the Piatto – the best Mediterranean restaurant in Jozi by the way- in Cresta, at the INNER Circle Cresta, with Nikki Viljoen. Here's a self portrait of us- that's Nikki with the matchstick, and me with the green pen. See how green it is? click on the pic to see more...

Nikki and I trading

The pen is totally green and it’s a BIC pen, one that you can click to annoy the people around you. And the green ink is a pretty funky hue, just as I imagined!

Nikki’s an ace internal auditor, and networker! Boy did she get the networking going between the decision makers at her meeting. Thanks Nikki for fitting in the trade with me at your meeting! I wonder now if any of those decision makers will think of what they can offer me for my green pen? They might need someone to help with auditing their books, like Nikki, and then the pen will come in real handy! Or maybe they just like writing their notes in a funky green. Anyway, it’s late and I’ll be off to never never land now… so send me an email with your offer for my ordinary green pen of the ballpoint variety on onematchstick@gmail.com

Cheers

**********OFFERS FOR one ordinary green pen of the ballpoint variety**********

What would one trade an accountant’s green ball pen for?

I have so much junk I’m not sure which prized piece to offer you.
I suppose presenting a choice is not the way the game works?

I’m going to start with the offer of a fluffy frog…in a leaping pose, flipper flapper feet things sticking out (knees to the breeze!)
It has these beady eyes that look at you wherever you are (kinda like the Mona Lisa… only cheaper)

But wait, there’s more, for one green accountant’s pen ball, you get…

A built in purse with fully zippable zipper

A loop attachment that allows you to thread it onto your belt, (for the fashionable amphibian accessory look)

The Canadian maple leaf stitched to it’s belly in matching red (matching its flipper flapper feet thingies)

It also comes with its original tag saying “Souvenir of/du Canada” (BI- lingual!) and its other stitched-on-tag that says “Made in China, 100% polyester” (also BI lingual, but I won’t bother with the French here as polyester seems to be polyester in French too)

The more I think about it, the more I think you are getting a shweet deal.

This fluffy f(r)iend was the first step I took towards a frog-phobia-free existence but now that I’ve moved onto bigger and better treatment options (NLP!), I feel ready to let it go…

But will you trade him for a pen…?

Megan

Jumping for Joy

So I was jumping for joy yesterday!

jump for joy!

Why you wonder? Well, for a number of reasons-

1. It was a long weekend!
2. It was a beautiful, sunny Gauteng winter’s day.
3. I’d just had my first self portrait with a peacock that we met, with her
gang of peacocks, at the Warthog Pub on our way to the Walter Sisulu Botanical
Gardens. (doesn't take much to keep me amused, hey!)
4. I had climbed up to the above the Waterfall at the Gardens, above where the
protected Black Eagles nest.
5. I was spending the day with my close and cherished friends Alix and Melissa.
6. I’d made my first trade 2 days before!

Yip- and here is a picture Nikki sent me of her ordinary green pen of the ballpoint
variety
that I’ll be trading my one matchstick for on Tuesday:

green pen

So, I wonder who I’ll be trading my one ordinary green pen
of the ballpoint variety
with… will it be you? Send me an offer at onematchstick@gmail.com.

One ordinary green pen of the ball point variety

There’s a first for everything. And today is the day I did my first trade. And it’s the first time I traded one matchstick. And it’s a first time too that I traded one matchstick with an internal auditor. Actually it’s a first that I traded anything with an internal auditor!

I just got off the phone with Nikki Viljoen and accepted her offer for her ordinary green pen of the ballpoint variety, for my one matchstick of the sliver of dead tree with a sulphur head variety.

I love green pens- I remember using a green Bic pen at school and varsity… somehow the green ink was far more exciting than black and blue ink. The teachers didn’t appreciate that though. Nowadays I prefer a sharp HB pencil- not those clicky ones, but the kinda pencil you got to sharpen with a spiffy sharpener of sorts.

So Nikki was busy in a meeting- but felt this trade was also important so thank you Nikki for taking my call! She’ll be sending a photo shortly of her ordinary green pen of the ballpoint variety so you can see it soon. I’ll be going to make the trade officially next Tuesday at her INNER Circle meeting, so that should be fun!

So who likes ordinary green pens of the ballpoint variety? Who could do with one? As Nikki pointed out, “the green pen and/or green ink is used exclusively by Auditors world wide” and so if you trade with me, you’ll join the ranks of esteemed auditors like Nikki Viljoen and get to make your scribbles in green ink. Or maybe you’re an Internal or External Auditor and need a green pen? Or maybe you’re just like me and dig the funkiness of writing in green?

Whatever your reason, just note that if you use this ordinary green pen of the ballpoint variety at work… you may get into trouble if you’re not the auditor (and one matchstick takes no responsibility for the consequences of using this ordinary green pen of the ballpoint variety). So send me your offers for one ordinary green pen of the ballpoint variety to onematchstick@gmail.com

OFFERS FOR one matchstick
*******************

Hi T, I'll swop you a bottle of Absolut Vodka for that matchstick! Let me know when I can deliver. H

*******************

Hi Telane

I read the one red paperclip story, so I thought I would get the ball rolling. (don't get confused, I am at a meeting at Trevor Nel and waiting for my cup of coffee, so I am replying from his computer).

I will trade you one green pen for your match stick. Now don't get me wrong, it is an ordinary green pen of the ball point variety. The reason I am trading you the green pen is as follows:-

Most people don't know that the green pen and/or green ink is used exclusively by Auditors world wide. This is to differentiate between the person who is doing the writing and the person who is doing the checking. When the auditor checks the work, he/she uses the green pen/ink to indicate and or evidence that they have checked that particular item.

In huge corporates and businesses, the usage of a green pen and/or ink by someone other than the Internal or External auditor can constitute fraud and can there therefore be a dismissable offence, so my advice to you, should you choose to accept my offer, would be to use it carefully and wisely.

I would suggest that we do the trade at my next Inner Circle Meeting (to get the most out of it, I will invite Ian from Caxton who can then do a write up for us) at my other office at the Piatto in Cresta.

Should you wish to take me up on this offer, kindly contact me on my email

Regards
Nikki

The aim of the game is to use opportunities to earn as much residual income as possible from diversified income sources, i.e. property, business, franchise and investments. You yourself are your biggest asset and personal development is encouraged and rewarded. It is a fun way to learn how to earn a sustainable income so that you do not have money problems, now or when you retire.

The Money Skills™ game was developed and manufactured in South Africa. At a quarter of the price of Cashflow, every South African citizen can afford to learn the secrets of the riches. The Money Skills™ game is quite realistic and provides valuable insights to wealth creation. Anyone can improve their financial disposition if they are committed enough to change.
A match stick has more value in our home than the Cashflow game.
I would love to trade it!

What can you do with one matchstick?

Well, I can think of plenty of uses. Perhaps you’d like to share one nifty use that you can think of, for one matchstick, here ? I’ll start, and you can add comments with your ideas. Ok?

What you can do with one matchstick:
1. Trade one matchstick for offices
2. Light a candle
3. ....

Well, now it's your turn... if you're not sure how to take part, then click here to find out how to add comments.

Later,
Telana

one matchstick

If you didn’t have any matches, and needed just one to make your day, what would you trade for that one matchstick? Well, I’m hoping that day is today, and you’ll consider making that trade for one matchstick- which is the last matchstick I have in this box of matches – so that I can get to make your day! (and mine!) So if you have something that you no longer need/want/have space for/etc., and are wiling to trade it for a matchstick, then contact me by sending an email with your offer to onematchstick@gmail.com

You see, I‘ve been wishing for an office for a while now... don’t get me wrong, I have a nice, cosy one at home that is meeting my needs, but now that my business is growing, I’d like some offices away from home. Recently a friend sent me an email that lead me to Kyle MacDonald’s project, and that inspired me to start a project of my own (thanks Kyle for the awesome inspiration!) If you don’t know what I’m talking about, have a look at oneredpaperclip.

And so I’m trading one matchstick for an office. Or a whole suite of offices, even a whole building! How it’s going to work is I’ll be making a line of trades up each time, until I get offices! And I'll go anywhre in SA to make the trade. (I'll even consider anywhere in the world if the trade is right!) Then what I’d like to do is use part of those offices to help a fellow start-up entrepreneur get his/her enterprise off the ground. So send me your trade offer to onematchstick@gmail.com

Hope to be trading with you soon!

Thanks
T

About me

My name is Telana Simpson. I’ve lived in Johannesburg for most of my life, except for my adventures in London and Sydney.

I’m a Courage Coach, and when I’m not helping people have no regrets in their lives by having conversations that count, I’m busy learning something new, taking time out with friends or talking to my 55 year old parrot.

I’ve skydived, scuba dived, eaten eel once, finished 3 Argus cycling races, loved and lost, started a few businesess, hopefully inspired someone and been inspired. Oh and I enjoy rock climbing and roller blading too when I can.

One of my adventure was a thrilling micro light flight, which lead to adding “getting my micro light license” to my list of 101 things to do before I die- yes, I have such a list and have just over 80 goals so far, waiting to be achieved (trading a matchstick being one of them).

I love tango and ceroc dancing, getting caught in the rain, decaf lattes, sitting on the roof watching the moon rise, good company, balloons, candles (and matchsticks!) and conversations that leave a mark.

My favourite song is “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone, all time best movie is the Matrix Trilogy followed by Moulin Rouge, and much-loved novel is “A bridge across forever” by Richard Bach.

Get in touch for a coffee or skype if you'd like to know more!
